I missed both movies when they were screened in Singapore and only managed to rent their DVD recently. Employee was a horrible waste of 120 minutes(It was horrible after 60 minutes but I wanted to know how it ended.). Even Jessica Simpson couldnt save it from its slow, plodding pace and cliched plot. Sunshine was a barrel of laughs, especially when you first get to meet the Hoovers family. It is only in the US of A that you can find such a dysfunctional bunch, consisting of a motivational speaker dad(9 steps to being a winner!), a foul-mouthed, heroin-snorting granddad, a gay and suicidal uncle and a brother who reads and lives Nietzsche. All of them unite in their quest to get little Olive to the Little Miss Sunshine pageant in California. The end result is a comedy with loads of love.
