Derailed
Synopsis: The movie starts with a typical day in the life of an American family with 2 busy working parents and their daughter except that she's a Type 1 diabetic.
Cut to the train scene where poor Charles Schine forgets to pay his ticket and has no money on him. He is saved from this sad scene by Lucinda Harris(Jennifer Aniston) who mysteriously offers to pay for him. This gets the ball rolling and we end up with the 2 leads in a hotel room. Being too lost in each other, they didn't see a mugger(Philippe LaRoche played by Vincent Cassel) sneak in and rob the 2 of them at point-blank. Of course the mugger can't resist the temptation of Lucinda in a half-dressed state. Charles mounts a pathetic defence before being knocked unconscious. After a brutal rape scene, the 2 part ways without a police report.
Charles is contacted by LaRoche who demands 20k from him or he will spill the beans to Schine's family. In order to protect his family, Charles pays up and suffers the beating. Predictably, LaRoche is soon back again asking for more money. This time Chucky consults his friend at work, Boykowho jokingly suggest that Charles pay him 10k to scare LaRoche off his back. We know it ain't gonna work but still the way Boyko was killed was quite unnerving. The two pals were just yakking in the car when BLAM Charles has 1 less drinking buddy. Philippe pops by to say hi and disappears again.
After the death of his colleague, a detective starts breathing down his neck and LaRoche calls for the rest of his cash and kidnaps Lucinda for good measure. Charles meets LaRoche. LaRoche gets the money. He disappears.
Now the "twist" comes. Charles turns up at Lucinda's workplace to find that she was not who she claimed to be. His suspicion aroused, he searches for her at the train station and finds her with another mysterious guy. He trails her and find that she is actually in cabhoots with LaRoche and the other guy was just the next con victim. Charles Schine plans his revenge.
Quite unbelivably, Lucinda brings the next lucky guy to the same hotel where Charles is hiding and waiting. He manages to overpower LaRoche and relieve him of his weapon. He demands his money back but LaRoche simply laughs at him. Lucinda pleads with LaRoche to return what he had taken and LaRoche curses her for having a soft spot for Charles's diabetic daughter who needs the money for her treatment. The mysterious guy goes insane suddenly and rushes Charles and struggle for the pistol. In the resulting tussle, Lucinda is shot in the chest and LaRoche pulls out another gun and shoots the unlucky guy. Charles managed to get off a shot and seemingly killed LaRoche. When LaRoche's partner busts in, the hero gunned him down too. He quicly left after the carnage.
Later, Charles realizes that LaRoche is still alive and finishes him off( the movie is more interesting than this haha) Then we have the happy ending where Charles gets his life back and no one knows anything.
