I only found out about this band when i was surfing through Cnet music and downloaded their sample track, "Silverpiece". The band is known for blending melodic female vocals with hard-hitting riffs and drumbeats. This is a Singaporean band and its three members are currently working professionals. They went to the same secondary school and jc(VJC) together. I really liked "Silverpiece" and hope to find their album in stores.
Crap. I was slammed for leaking out the fact a certain organization was playing around in a certain country(lets say GreenLandBlueLand) while cozying up to GreenLandBlueLand's bigger neighbour, RedLand. Damn it was already a so-called "open secret". Anyway for all the trouble I went through, I earned myself a free 2 day pass to the Sunset Strip where bored people find solace in pool, dvds or aircon. On the whole, it could have been worse like getting extras but still it was one hell of a boring weekend. It also gave me lots of stuff to do on the subsequent one juz to clear up the mess...
On friday, we also had to endure a rather cliched heritage tour where we went around the island in tour buses learning more about our roots( i dont believe anyone actually cares which part of Singapore our old camp was) and stoned around until the evening celebrations. The entertainment was a disappointment consisting of a singing competition and a performance by a singer-cum-magician. The video which was supposed hard work of the outgoing S2 was too yawn-inducing so i cant really remember much about it. The food prepared by the chefs were good, we had ice kachang, carrot cake(best), popiah, satay, prawn mee(tasteless).
i henceforth have a personal grudge against a certain Kelvin Ong of J whom strict adherence to rules and regulations denied me the pleasures of an extra night in me own sweet home. Honestly, a man who quibbles about us being late by a minute has some serious issues. There are definitely a good number of dunces walking around in my workplace. Sigh so is the fate of the small fry with only 3 measly stripes.
Casino royale was a great movie! kinda late but been busy these couple of weekends and most ppl were cramming for med exams. it showed Bond as a more violent, arrogant person. There was a scene just after Bond was tricked by the baddie into losing all his chips. He picked up a dining knife and recklessly stalked after the baddie before being forestalled by a CIA agent with a common goal who persuaded him to back down. The ending which explained the betrayal of Vesper was well done and provided a good finish to the show.
