Finally, after years of dreaming (sicne i was 11/12), months of working and savingand scrimping, months of planning, 8 days of knee pounding trekking, lots of courage and determination, i am finally here, at Everest Base Camp.

The terrain is harsh, the sun is blaring down on you, the wind is cold and fast, the air is dry, and you kick sand up for every step you take. But it is so so so beautiful. It is amazing what non-singaporean teenagers can do when they put their mind to it. Pei Ting was from ODAC too and instead of rushing off to get her degree as soon as she finished her A levels, she took a gap year to do what she wanted to do. Out of the tons of photos she sent us, I picked out 2 of the nicest, with their original captions which are rather inspiring. Somehow, it reminds me that there is more to life than what anyone can possibly imagine, that the world is so much bigger, that there are so many dreams you can pursue if you aren't too afraid to step out. Nepal looks cold and tempting. I have this itch to go for Everest Base Camp, wonder if anyone is interested?
