I have seen only 2 episodes of House so far but I am hooked. It is a critically-acclaimed medical drama by FOX.
The protagonist is Dr Gregory House, a cynical and cranky medical genius. Each episode shows him and his team trying to diagnose the illness a patient is suffering from. There are usually several mis-diagnosis before they arrive at the correct conclusion. The pacing is tight and plot is interesting enough to get the viewers.
It is a far cry from its cousin Grey's Anatomy which was a show about sex wrapped in a medical coat. In House, the focus of the show is on the illness faced by the patient and the medical terms thrown about by the characters are a lot harder to digest. House seems more concerned about solving the problem than actually treating the patient, giving the show a rather cold and clinical feel. Sometimes, it feels like CSI: New Jersey. There is a deplorable lack of character development in the show but it is probably in line with it being a more serious and professional medical series.
